Ramblings of a TV Geek

Awhile back I posted FreddeGredde’s TV Theme Song Medley.  Here is his Cartoon Medley.  I cannot tell you how much I love this.  His vocals during The Transformers, Scoobie Doo and The Addam’s Family are so good.  And I love whenever he sings in a language other than english.  He also sings theme songs in French, Finnish, and his native Swedish.  So good!

I can’t express how much I love this.

A french fry?

Oh.  My. God.  I know I mostly just post about television, but this cracked me up.   Hilarious!

Okay.  Last James Marsden clip of the evening:  From 27 Dresses.  Love this scene.

James Marsden singing on Second Noah.  I never watched that show, but I remember reading an article about James and that show yeeeeeaaaars ago, and it is the first time I ever heard of him.

James Marsden on Rove Live (with Eliza Dushku, no less, and some dude from NSync I don’t care about), where they show a clip of his singing as a youngin’ on a local Oklahoma television show.  Yay!

So, I was re-watching the Pilot for The Nanny, (here, here, and here), and I noticed the boy Maggie is kissing is James Marsden!  During the credits I noticed they credited him as Jimmy Marsden—I literally went “Aww” when I saw that.

With my recent post about remakes of television shows in other countries, It got me thinking about the international success of The Nanny.  I had no idea how popular this show was, or that other countries had their own version of it until a few years ago when I randomly looked up  The  Nanny  on  Wikipedia.  Anyway, I found this video on YouTube—a random sampling of the opening in various countries.  I think the Polish one looks the closest to the original (plus I think I’ve seen clips of the actual show and it is almost identical save for a few cultural changes), the Chilean one looks weird, and the Russian one?   Look at those eyebrows?!  Haha!  Anyway, I thought this was neat.

The Swedish version of Sailor Moon opening, from season one.  The opening visually looks like the original Japanese opening except the title text is written in English, and there is a list of credits in Swedish.

I love this so much!

This is sort of a tv run down from the past week:

-Hart of Dixie:  The show continues to be good, and it is amazing that they didn’t (thankfully) drag out the Lemon/LaVonn longer.  Hopefully with the secret out, it will open up more story possibilities for the characters.  It was great to see/hear Scott Porter (George) show off his singing chops.  George and Zoe were cute together in New Orleans, even if it was short lived.  Then again, this is only season one.

-Community:  In what has been a lackluster season with weird, boring episodes—and for a show that used to have awesomely, amazing weird episodes—this episode was pretty good.  The entire episode was a parody of Law & Order, and the show spoofed it to a T.  It seems tardy though:  Isn’t the original show off the air?  Anyway, it reminded me of Community episodes from seasons one and two.

-30 Rock:  This was the show’s second time doing a live episode.  It was good.   Not spectacular, but good.  I never saw the first live episode that aired in season five, except for a few clips.  I know Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are friends, but I didn’t buy Amy as Liz Lemon in flashbacks.  Maybe Julie Louis-Dreyfus was unavailable, because she was perfect as Flashback Liz on the previous live show.  It was nice seeing Donald Glover (from Community) as Tracy Jordan in a flashback.  He actually was a writer on this show and had a small cameo a few years ago.  The flashback of the telethon that changed all of their lives was great, and it is amazing how many cameos were in this episode.

So, those are the shows I’ve watched this past week (and the only shows currently on the air that I’ve kept up with).

Omg.  As a Sailor Moon fan, I cannot tell you how much I love this!
